The Artist
Born in Delhi in 1962, Amita's earliest memories are of colour — a kaleidoscope of pigments discovered through countless hours of childhood exploration.
After schooling in Chandigarh, her path wound through the duties and joys of life — marriage to a Naval officer, frequent postings across India, and raising two children. Through it all, art remained her quiet constant.
With her husband's retirement and her children grown, Amita returned to the canvas with renewed devotion. In 2023 she joined Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, finding in its community a mirror for her own lifelong passion.
All her work is dedicated to the memory of her beloved parents, whose encouragement first set her brush in motion.
